Automation of centrifuge cleaning multiplies the effective capacity compared to manually cleaned units. Selection of the self-cleaning versions is appropriate where:
- Bulk solids separation volume or necessary fluid turnover rate is high.
- Available labor for manual centrifuge cleaning is limited.
- Direct contact with process solids or liquids is not recommended.
